Arriving in Playa del Carmen

The venue for the 2005 IH Agent's Workshop is the Gran Porto Real Hotel, which is right on the seafront in Playa del Carmen, a short distance from IH Riviera Maya.

The nearest airport to Playa del Carmen is Cancun International Airport. There are direct flights from most major cities to Cancun which is just 60km (40 miles) north of Playa del Carmen.

Alternatives
For those who would prefer to make their own way to the hotel the journey from the airport to Playa del Carmen should take less than 1 hour. It is possible to catch a Riviera bus to Playa del Carmen from outside the National Arrivals Terminal. The bus leaves every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 20:30 and costs approximately 70$ pesos. From the bus terminal in Playa del Carmen you can take a taxi to the hotel for around 15$-20$ pesos.

Alternatively one can take a taxi directly from the airport to the hotel in Playa del Carmen. This will cost around 500$ pesos (40-65 US$) if between 08:00 and 22.00.

How to move around Playa del Carmen
As Playa del Carmen is relatively small, it is possible to get around on foot most of the time. Taxis are widely available and a journey within the town should only cost around 15-20$ pesos (2-3 US$).
